1000 RON t-shirt - teewear.ro contest(written on 2010-03-23)

1000 RON is the big prize for the TeeWear.ro contest. The contest started a few weeks ago on a Goof Koof designed and sewn platform.

Project details/Clients’ needs:
TeeWear.ro is created around a quite new business concept on the Romanian market. The users create models of prints, TeeWear team “fry” them on t-shirts and sell them.

The main idea was for the online store to be launched after a contest, so that its’ existence would be known by a large number of aimed clients.
“Eye-candy” was one of the expressions used by the sponsors in order to describe their vision about the concept they were about to develop with Goof Koof. Statistics assure us that we reached that goal.

The solution:
The contest page rapidly took shape. Irregular curves were used because the concept revolved around the hand-made area so that it would reflect as close as possible the contests’ idea. Scissors, fabrics and parts created with sawing chalk etc. were integrated in an intuitive and user friendly model.
The submit process was distilled up to a minimum number of clicks. Users download digital t-shits, design the print, upload them and then are accepted in the contest.

Anyone can submit but not everyone can participate. The store owners have an administration board by which they can accept or reject a design if it doesn’t keep up to the participation rules.

The voting system was in-house developed. It uses a combination of technologies (AJAX, Jquery, PHP) in order to offer its’ users the possibility of promoting the most interesting t-shirts .

The Conclusion:
The popularity of the contest felt a strong burst from the first days after its’ launch and then had a continuous climbing trend. That was a sign that the idea caught, the design and functions of the page reached the goals.

At the moment, www.teewear.ro registers over 2000 visits/week and the number of participants is growing.
